BLT, a leading innovator in metal additive manufacturing (AM), has achieved Airbus A330 production certification for metal AM components, solidifying its place in Airbus's qualified supplier network. This milestone, announced during the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, highlights BLT's excellence in serial production and advanced PBF-LB/M technologies, fostering deeper collaboration with Airbus in aerospace innovation.
Showcasing serial production capabilities, BLT achieved Airbus A330 production certification for metal AM components, becoming part of Airbus's qualified supplier network.
On November 12, 2024, during the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, Airbus held a press conference at the Zhuhai Space Center, where Airbus China senior executives shared updates on Airbus’s latest developments in China and conducted a signing ceremony. BLT's CEO and General Manager, Dr Xue, was invited to attend the event.
As early as 2018, BLT achieved Airbus A330 production certification for metal additive manufacturing components, successfully becoming part of Airbus's qualified supplier network. Through years of technical expertise and hands-on collaboration, BLT has earned Airbus’s recognition for excellence in metal additive manufacturing processes, especially for the serial production of large, complex aircraft components.
In this newly obtained production package, BLT will once again utilise its self-developed PBF-LB/M machine BLT-S400 along with its proprietary high-quality superalloy powders to meet the serial production requirements for this new part number.
Over the years, BLT has demonstrated exceptional batch delivery capabilities, consistently fulfilling its commitments to stable and efficient delivery in Airbus collaboration projects. This reliability has enabled the partnership to expand in both scale and depth, establishing a solid foundation for broader and more enhanced cooperation. The signing of this new part production package signifies a deepening phase in the Airbus-BLT collaboration.
BLT remains committed to its philosophy of “Partnering with excellence to achieve greatness” and will continue to work with Airbus to drive forward the application of metal additive manufacturing in aerospace, contributing positively to innovation in the global aviation industry.
The BLT-S400 is recognised as the most advanced laser-based powder bed fusion of metals (PBF-LB/M) machines from BLT. This meets the rigorous demands of the aerospace industry through its high quality, efficiency, and stability. The available materials for forming range from titanium alloy, superalloy, aluminum alloys, stainless steel, high strength steel to tool steel.
The BLT-S400 is primarily used for aerospace industry applications and enables mass production of aerospace components. It offers a larger build dimension compared to BLT-S310, with dimensions of up to 400mm×250mm×400mm.
Xi'an Bright Laser Technologies Co Ltd (BLT), founded in July 2011, is a comprehensive solution provider for metal additive manufacturing based in China. On July 22, 2019, BLT was listed on the STAR Market with the stock code 688333.SH.
