The Instrumentation Experts Club (IEC) along with the European Continental University (ECU) organised the 9th Entrepreneurial Convocation at the iLeaf Grands Banquets in Navi Mumbai on 15th of November 2024. This is the 4rd Convocation organised by the Instrumentation Experts Club in the last seven years. The Instrumentation Experts Club, founded in the year 2002, is a leading Indian non-profit organisation that is setting the standards for industrial automation by helping Corporate Members and other instrumentation professionals to remain at the forefront of knowledge in this highly competitive society, while enhancing their leadership and personal career capabilities.
Dr B R Mehta, Chairman of Instrumentation Experts Club, and Honorary Executive Professional Advisor and Country Executive Dean of ECU, welcomed the dignitaries: Prof Ralph Thomas, Vice Chancellor of ECU; Dr Fareed Al Mahmeed, Executive Secretary General, UK-CCL, Bahrain; and all the other participants at the event.
Dr B R Mehta explained that Professional Entrepreneurial and Occupational Knowledge Doctorate awarded by the ECU is accepted internationally as a Noteworthy, Valuable, Recognisable, Profound and Progressive Knowledge Ability Qualification. These Lifelong Blended Learning Awards are for the individuals who have gained acceptance as Knowledge Achievers, and Contributors by way of success in Business, Profession or Employment. Every candidate must meet the assessment, and verification criteria outlined by the UK Commission of Consistent Learning (UK-CCL), and the laid down procedures.
“Unlike regular, academic universities, the ECU is a non conventional, non orthodox university, and recognises the immense value of work experience of professionals and offers them a variety of work related professional degrees, including Doctorate, Masters, International Golden Excellence and Diamond of Asia. The IEC has entered into a strategic alliance with the ECU. As the Chairman of IEC, I am happy to inform you that 21 of our members are today being recognised and honoured by the ECU. There cannot be a greater joy of moment for the IEC other than getting recognised by such a grand professional university,” said Dr Mehta.
The European Continental University (ECU) was incorporated in the State of Delaware, USA, in the
year 2005 on the foundation of visionary and forward thinking Knowledge Academician, Professor Emeritus Ralph Thomas’ Doctoral thesis. His mission is to give prominence to hands-on work learning knowledge, equal recognition and acceptance as academic qualifications. The ECU is envisaged as a work oriented, professional knowledge university that encourages all achievers and professionals in all fields by recognising them for their extraordinary knowledge and creativity on a worldwide basis. The ECU is affiliated to, and is in partnership with, two UK-based professional bodies – The Corporation of Executives and Administrators (CEA) and the UK Commission for Consistent Learning (UK-CCL). These two affiliations confirm the Quality Professional Knowledge Assessment Procedure that every applicant should follow on a compulsory basis to earn ECU’s appropriate Knowledge Awards.
“In today’s global working environment, we have many individuals who have an immeasurable amount of hands-on work experience, but do not hold any academic or
professional qualifications to certify their expertise. This is where the European Continental University
comes in to recognise highly experienced individuals and help them gain a reputable Professional Knowledge Qualification,” said Prof Ralph Thomas, while speaking at the Convocation ceremony.
Dr Mehta explained that this is the 4th time IEC is holding this convocation and this time there were 21 Doctorate degree applicants receiving their respective degrees.
Prof Ralph Thomas opened the Convocation programme and explained the methodology of how the selection of entrepreneurial awards is done by UK-CCL and ECU. Dr Fareed Al Mahmeed explained to the candidates the value of achieving this level of Doctorate and the advantages of such a professional doctorate degree that could help further in progressive learning.
The award function began by honouring four of IEC Office Bearers – Dr B R Mehta, Dr Keyur Vora, Dr V P Raman and Dr Ravinder Goyal – who have mainly contributed to make this function a great success and they were given Fellow Membership of the American Association for Higher Education (AAHEA). They were also given Accreditation as Doctorate Fellowship.
