The India Automation Challenge (IAC) 2023 brought together some of the most brilliant young minds in engineering and automation to push the boundaries of innovation. With a mission to foster cutting-edge technological solutions, IAC provided a platform for aspiring engineers to develop, showcase, and implement real-world automation projects.

After rigorous rounds of evaluation, 10 exceptional teams were selected to present their projects at Automation Expo 2023, India's largest automation exhibition. From AI-powered industrial automation to smart assistive technologies, these projects set new benchmarks in the field. After a highly competitive selection process, the Top 10 teams were invited to Automation Expo 2023, with the following 7 projects emerging as winners:

Greenhouse Automation using OpenPLC

This groundbreaking project by Vinayak Rasal, Aman Rajbhar, and Tanvi Desai from Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Technology, Mumbai, under the mentorship of Dr.Nilima Warke, introduced an IoT- driven OpenPLC system to optimize greenhouse farming, ensuring better control over temperature, humidity, and irrigation.

Design & Development of Auto Turret

Auto Focus using AI for Micro Vickers Hardness Tester – A fusion of AI and industrial automation, this project, developed by Sanket Balkrishna Kinekar, Atharv Ashok Mali, and Rushikesh Purnam Naik from Sharad Institute of Technology, Yadrav, Kolhapur, under Dr. A. M. Takale, improved the precision of hardness testing equipment, reducing human intervention and error.

Hand Gesture Controlled Wheelchair

A life-changing assistive device, this innovative wheelchair interprets hand gestures to enable mobility for differently-abled individuals. Created by Naimatullah Mullah, Umesh Suvasiya, and Prajwal Poojari from Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Technology, Mumbai, with guidance from Prof. Abhishek Chaudhari, it integrates advanced motion sensors and control systems.
