Witt 4.0 at the Thermprocess

June 2019 – What the "Internet of Things" or Industry 4.0 has to offer in the field of gas control valves was demonstrated by Witt-Gasetechnik at the Thermprozess Expo in Düsseldorf from 25 to 29 June. The theme was "Smart gas technology for networked production".
Decision-makers and users could experience just how safe and visible a gas supply system’s performance can be, with the smart valves from Witt.
"We have combined our proven mechanical designs with high-tech sensors and electronic components. These next-generation products offer real added value for our customers," said Andrew Smart, Sales Manager Gas Safety Equipment at Witt.
Several examples of the new Witt 4.0 products were seen at Thermprocess. One example is a dome pressure regulator with smart option. This high-precision gas pressure regulator now electronically transmits the upstream and downstream pressure as well as the gas temperature in real time and is also able to calculate the current flow rate. These signals can be integrated into burner control systems. They can also be integrated into gas supplier cryogenic tank telemetry systems, and to protecting downstream pipework from cold embrittlement.
Another development is next-generation safety relief valves. These protect gas systems from overpressure, by relieving pressure at a precise set-point. With the smart option, the safety valve can now electronically record its status and send a signal as soon as the valve opens and blows off. A clear gain in safety for the user.
Witt not only networks valves, but even the entire gas supply system: Gas mixers, pressure regulating stations, line pressure regulators, non-return valves and safety relief valves are connected in a network. All data converge in real time at a controller. Via remote software on PC, tablet or smartphone, employees have all of the performance information available at all times. This means maximum operational reliability, precise process control, zero defects and thus cost advantages.
WITT is regarded as the world's leading manufacturer of components and systems for industrial gas applications.
